Afternoon is Adult age : Human walking on 2 legs
Evening is Old age : Human walking on 3 legs (2 legs & 1 Stick)

the answer is a human. but technically if you think about it the proportions are all wrong. babies learn to walk well before this metaphorical "afternoon", and humans don't need canes until well past their early evening hours.
