Wear some of it yourself when hosting. I have been to several parties, and nothing looks more stupid to me than a hostess wearing jeans and socks serving wine to a bunch of girls and pushing lingerie from a catalog.
You don't have to wear a baby-doll, but I have a friend that always has fun parties, and she makes really good money, by role playing the party.
She may be in a french maid outfit, complete with garter belt and stockings, or just wear her off the rack clothes with a garter belt and stockings from her catalogs, or a bustier with jeans or really anything found in her catalogs. It really relaxes everybody, and puts them in the mood, and she makes tons of money because she goes the extra mile, and makes the whole experience up close and personal.

I used to sell lingerie. One of the tips that I always told people was to serve alcohol. Don't go out and buy a bunch of bottles of stuff. I usually recommended making some kind of punch. You don't want people to get drunk, but drinking a little bit of alcohol relaxes people. When they are relaxed they tend to buy more.
It's good to play some games at first too. Don't just throw the lingerie out first thing. At one of my parties, a very uppity lady bought a pair of underwear for her husband that said, "Home of the Whopper". I couldn't believe it. I don't think it woud've happened without the alcohol.

Some, not to heavy, alchohol. Set guidelines for what lingerie to wear given to guests before hand and a nice relaxed atmosphere.

Have a real model come and show off the selections.
Have some really erotic stuff for laughs.
Get one of those cakes and put something fun on it.
Have little gift bags with stuff people would not buy themselves!
