lol, sorry, it's just such a funny concept to many women.
Personally, I would not be so happy to pose nude for a friend because I am not wholely comfortable seeing myself nude, let alone someone else. However, if there are friends of yours who would go skinny dipping with you and a group of friends or are already friends with a girl who is very outgoing, she'd most likely be your best candidate.
Be careful not to ask certain "more shy" friends about it. They might think you're creepy and then it would be a big pain in the *** to convince them it was for the sake of art.
Some girls just don't get it.

yes if I could help a friend and we were close enough that I felt confortable with him I would. Ahead of time I'd warn him that if I felt unconfortable I would leave.

I think it really depends on how comfortable you are with yourself! If your comfortable with yourself than I believe you should go for it, if not tell him how you feel!
If you don't want anything more of the friendship than let him know that your not in it for any hanky panky :)
