americans tel me i look like a "prettyboy". i geus we dont say that in the uk, or ive never heard of it. is it something good or bad? what exactly does it mean.....

Prettyboys are seen as more feminine males, inferior to other men. It can be used as a compliment though. I know I call one of my buddies a prettyboy because the kid's a stud and can pull any girl he wants. Mainly if they are using it as an insult it's because they're jealous, they can't be seen as good looking guys so they attack you. It's a form of setting up an alpha male demeinor against you, don't stand for it. Just laugh them off and say that's crazy because your girlfriend calls me a prettyboy too. Lol, jokes are good for people.

I don't always use it as a derogatory term. A "prettyboy" to me is someone who is nice looking and takes care of himself. Not Gay. That is totally different. I use to date a prettyboy, his friends called us Mr. And Mrs. GQ. He was a hottie! Don't fret, being a prettyboy is not bad. It just means they are jealous cause you are good looking.

Prettyboy is generally used for good looking girls. If a boy looks good but a little girlish, then too .

I outline a prettyboy as any guy (properly, boy) who's petrified of having his fingers dirty and installation a demanding day's paintings. also, those sort varieties who've to shave all desirable and be certain their hair not in any respect falls out of position. yet this is purely me. :-)

When someone calls someone a "prettyboy" it's usually negative. It means you're a guy who cares too much about your appearance.

a guy that looks good but doesnt like to get his hands dirty sort of, someone that doesnt like manual labor and just looks good, where collared shirts and nice pants. Not always a bad term at all
Other similar terms are Preppy, white boy, that kinda thing

It means you are a pretty boy not a manly man.Depending on who said it , could be they were making fun of you.Calling you a little girly guy. Then again you may be pretty and thus they simply stated the truth as they saw it , pretty boy.
