I personally don't think its immoral or unethical.I believe its still illegal unless your getting them from a paid site selling them.

I would ask the people that decided its illegal, immoral,or unethical a simple question. If you bought a book at the bookstore, read it and then lent it to a friend to read would that be illegal ,immoral or unethical? How about if you went to the library who purchased a book and you read it ,would that be? How about if you made copies of any of the material in the book for personal use and did not attempt to sell it to anyone, would that be illegal, immoral, unethical? I think not all these are done commonly everyday and violate no law moral or legal. So If I buy a CD and choose to make a song available to any friend(s) whether on line or in person why is that illegal or immoral, I paid for it just like I did the book I lent them to read or copied excerpts from for them.I transacted no business, did not sell the music, nor attempted to infringe on copy write,I simply made available a song I already paid for and can share with anyone I want without recourse ,except on a peer to peer network, those are my friends who equally share with me, I think the whole deal boils down to money, and technology has finaly developed to a point that preclusion is no longer an option, so P Diddy should just get over it ,just like any author of a book I loan you to read I paid for has to get over it.

It's apparently unethical in our society and most of the others. Everyone still does it because of conformity and the fact that it's easier to obtain free things than to waste money on songs. However, the RIAA targets not those who are downloading these mp3s, but those who are actually DISTRIBUTING these mp3s.

I find it more unethical the fact of paying 15 bucks for a cd because it had 2 fabulous songs, and then finding out the other 10 are crap.

Madonna, you owe me money!!!

that's crapp, it's like you said. 10 cents out of pdidis pocket. However, it's the artist's and the record companies fault. In a single album they ussually have 1 or 2 good songs. Would you pay 20 dollars for 1 or 2 songs? NO, people who really like a good artist buy their cd's without even thinking of it. I think artists should be gratefull that people like their music, and stop bitching.
