The leakers in both cases must be brought to justice. End of story.

The difference is that revealing Valerie Plame's name is far worse. If the government outs CIA operatives, how can we trust them? As for the national security leaks, this needs to be done. Bush has shredded the Constitution with his illegal wire taps and and now he is looking through our bank records. Our privacy is gone in this country. You can believe Bush when he says that this is damaging to our securtiy if u want, but all this guy does is say trust me. Its not a good idea to trust an administation that has already lied to us. Liberals are leaving this alone because the truth needs to come out. Uncle Sam is watching you, terrrorist, Republican, Democrat, whatever. Just rememeber all the crazy things the govt can do because of the Patriot Act. Congress basically signed our lives over that day. Don't just accept what these people tell you is right, Bush doesn't have your interest at heart, just like he doesn't care about Americans killed in Iraq

I'm here, so here goes.

Robert Novak wrote the story of Valerie Plame in the Chicago Sun Times.

Someone in the Administration LEAKED it. That's why Scooter Libby is going on trial. HE was the one who leaked it.
The Bush Administration said NOTHING about prosecuting the newspaper.

The same thing can be said about the NYT. They only printed what someone else leaked. When THAT someone is found, I hope they get prosecuted IF they broke the law.

Bush and Plame leak - no outrage at paper.
Bush and program leak - outrage.

NOW do you see the difference? Sheesh!

There is an issue of first amendment rights when it comes to the newspapers giving the public information that is pertaining to that public!!!! The leak in the Valerie Plame case is clearly defined on the books as TREASON. However, this corrupt and fraudulent administration has found ways to "declassify" the information that was leaked, thereby making it NON-TREASONOUS. The Bush Crime Family has been the most secretive and corrupt administration this country has ever seen.

Their anger over the Valerie Plame leak was just to avoid questions about her husband's unusual appointment to such an important mission. Since America is the only bad guy to some of these people, they have to protect the terrorists.

They are on the dark side of the moon on this issue and the silence they had when Karl Rove was not indicted by the special grand jury in Washington after the liberal press screamed for months he would be. Not one liberal blog reported the announcement from Fitzgerald .Hypocrites. Not interested in truth only an agenda.

You compare outing a CIA agent with the outing of information that was hardly a secret.

If you dont recall, not only were liberals upset but so was our president. The promised that anyone found to be involved would be dealt with. Just another broken promise.

They are equally upset that the government has not only been monitoring phone calls, but also preparing a database AND to top it now collecting financial transaction information. What next? Health records? Religious records? Do you even see a pattern?

Who are you supporting? What makes you think that won't come after you? What makes you think that you are so special? just because you voted republican? Are you ABSOLUTELY 200% certain that no one that you associate with knows someone who knows someone who knows someone who might be a suspect? Do you know for certain they won't pull those network strings and won't come knocking on your door next? Wait they don't have to knock anymore.

Just think about it. You are not a multi-millionaire. You are not special. They could come for you too. ;-)

The New York Times did a great job and I am thankful that I know what is going on. This administration has done many secretive things and EVERY thing they do should be exposed and let the chips fall where they may.

Both leaks came from Bush Administration officials. If they want to hurt themselves that's their business. Hurting an undercover CIA officer is another matter entirely...
