The Eastern time zone ENDS in Indiana. The Central Zone starts in Illinois.

However, there is a portion of Indiana near Chicago (I think around Gary, Indiana) that is part of the Central time zone.

All of Illinois is in the Central zone. Most of Indiana is in the Eastern.

Whether a zone STARTS or ENDS depends on where you are coming from.
