I think we will see a different England performance this time. Rooney and Lampard will score and England will win comfortably. England need to keep their cool as Portugal will resort to violent conduct once the game is beyond them. I hope that they do not target Rooney as we cannot win the World Cup without him. I hope the Portugese players can be man enough to accept defeat and not resort to deliberately trying to injure him as they did in Euro 2004.

you have a VERY DIRTY MOUTH.

"As Portugal will resort to violent conduct" -- ??????

Speaking of the Euro 2004 game you mention. Statistics:
FOULS COMMITTED: PORTUGAL 14 - ENGLAND 25.
Take that, you manipulator wannabe!

About the alleged Portuguese "violence" that the English press is barking all over: If you watch the game you'll see the Dutch started out all the violence. At 2 minutes first strong hit on Ronaldo, at 6 minutes they did it again and Ronaldo was unable to proceed, given the violence of the DELIBERATE tackle. And what did the ref do? No red card. First mistake. Others followed, namely, too strict with portuguese offsides and fouls and systematycally ignoring identical offsides and fouls from the dutch. Then, that unbelievable UNFAIR PLAY move from the dutch that originated Deco's 1st card. Now, the English press is making a DIRTY campaign against Portugal, to make believe they are the violent and aggressive, but what they don't say is that Portugal just had 49 MATCHES IN A ROW WITHOUT A SINGLE RED CARD. yes, 49, corresponding to the last nearly 5 years. That says something about the alleged Portuguese "violence" doesn't it? Also, they don't say the Dutch committed more fouls, and out of the 10 Portuguese fouls they were booked 9 yellow cards!!! That says something doesn't it? Check out Fifa's statistics if you don't believe me. Besides, who injured who? It was Cristiano Ronaldo who had to leave in pain with his thigh badly injured. Was any Dutch injured? No. So, who's violent?

(yeah Figo gave a soft headbutt but DID YOU SEE what the Dutch van was doing to him????)

Sure they can win.
if suddenly all of Portugal's players receive red cards...and even then chances of England's triumph are slim...

of course im exaggerating. don't take it too literally

but in all seriousness my point is that England does not stand a chance against Portugal when it is thought about logically.
sure Portugal is without two of there better players. but they still have maniche, figo, ronaldo...etc.

the point is Portugal has the stronger team
although England has some strong players
they play like **** together
they are all over the place

England is easily one of the most overrated teams along with the U.S.

But in a game of football you cant be too sure
England has been lucky thus far
and they can get lucky again

so to answer the question seriously
England can win if they get lucky...and some free kicks
if they do I think it will be well undeserved.
All in all it should be an interesting match

Yes, they can if portugese doesn't do their acting out there cause England has many aggressive player like Rooney, Ashley Cole, Joe Cole, and England is my favorite, just look at the Beckham freekick at the last match!

Who says you can win the World Cup? With or without Rooney, you're going out. Portugal is gonna win this.

I do not think England can score outside of a set piece. Portugal, I think, will win 1-0.

I don't think soo....!!! England likes to play with high ball...... It's football, so they have to play the ball on the field!!!
Besides, I think Portugal had better techniques and strategies..... (Sorry if you're an England's fan)
I think the game will end up in a draw.... (either it will be 0-0 or 1-1)

They will win only if they play as a team, Rooney's prank show the world there is no cohesion in England, also they must rely on their instincts rather on their individuality.
