No that is definitely not true. In fact, i have never even heard of this, not even as an old wive's tale

And if you are talking about the umbilical cord around the baby's neck - it is extremely common and it does not choke the baby. A lot of babies are delivered perfectly well with umbilical cord around the neck once, twice and even 3 times. Occasionally we do see still births with umbilical cord round the neck but those are usually considered coincidental events and is not the cause of the still birth

That is not a wives tale. In the last weeks of pregnancy, you should refrainn from doing activities where you have to put your arms over your head for long periods of time
Example: hanging clothes on the line.
The cord has more opportunity to wrap around the baby's neck.If you have a fast labor and the cord is wrapped around the neck, not only could it choke your baby, it could break her neck. Consider the evolution of childbirth...moms don't really hang clothes much anymore, and there are fewer stillborn babies due to strangulation by umbilical cord.

that is an old wivies tale. I have had 3 children all with the cord wrapped around the neck. The doctor just slipped it over their head. Don't concern yourself or you will be a nervous wreck by the end of the 40 weeks

no. definitely not. I don't know of anyway that you could make your baby choke on the cord. the only way for her to choke would be for her to accidentally get wrapped up in it. I just had a baby and did house work up untill just after my water broke and he came out just fine.

actual no longer. it really is instantly ahead sense if u extremely imagine about it. Your infant is in a muscular sack low on your abdomen. How would elevating your fingers, which aren't any more proper for your uterus in besides, over your head reason the umbilical wire to someway bypass and wrap itself round your children neck? Plus, a touch one would not breath through the airways, he receives his oxygen through the blood from the umbilical wire, so even being round his neck might want to no longer damage him. It in uncomplicated phrases motives a difficulty at beginning with the possibility of the wire being compressed at beginning, yet you medical professional will be on the look out for that. only an previous better halves tale.

My wife said yeah, she heard it. It's news to me. But I did hear that if you put your baby's cord above your head when you're pregnant, it would choke you.

ITS A TOTAL MYTH
Women have done manual labour for years and the incidence of cord around the neck has not increased or decreased

Fetal death rate has decreased due to increased monitoring in pregnancy, ultrasound, intervention, and caesarian section rates going up

Cords do not break necks obstetricians and Midwives have done in severe cases of shoulder dystocia and instrumental delivery (EXTREMeLY RARE)

Hang your clothes
stretch away
Even do yoga if you want
ENJOY
