Is there any PC games like yesteryears Elite, but only better?

lol - I can't believe these people have never heard of Elite - I used to have it on the BBC - it was awesome... for ti's day. To answer your question though - yes. There is a game that I own called X2 - The Threat which is like Elite but much much better.
That is the good news.... the better news is that this is actually quite old now and you should probably get X3:Reunion - available for £14.99 from Play.com. The official website for the game if you want to check it out is at http://www.egosoft.com/games/x3/info_en.php
If you do not have a new enough graphics card etc... for this game it is still worth checking out this site as it also has X2 information on it and this game can be got even cheaper at £7.99 from Play.com.

The user above was not as help full, but are you sure that was the name of the game? I too have never heard of it, a yahoo, google, and two gaming website couldn't find it.

If you can get hold of it try Froniter Elite 2.
