Cats suck the breath from babies
Cats have long been viewed as evil, and for centuries a number of superstitions featuring their bringing bad luck have abounded. Similar to the "sucking life from a child by swallowing its breath" superstition was one about not raising a kitten and a baby together, lest the cat thrive and the child waste away. In that superstition, the cat was supposed to be stealing the child's vitality by magic.
As to how widely believed the "breath sucking" tale is, a 1929 article in the Nebraska State Journal quoted a doctor as having said he had seen "the family pet in the very act of sucking a child's breath, lying on the baby's breast, a paw on either side of the babe's mouth, the cat's lips pressing those of the child and the infant's face pale as that of a corpse, its lips with the blueness of death." The doctor's emphatic statements to the contrary, the legend is still a fatuous piece of lore. It turns up so often, however, that it's no wonder the legend is so widely believed.

Yep African American 1. If your stomach is high during pregnancy its a Boy! 2. If your stomach hangs low its a Girl! 3. DO NOT dye your hair during pregnancy because the baby's hair will be the same color as the dye! 4. Do not talke about anyone while you are pregnant or hate anyone, or have a grudge towards anyone because your baby will definitely look like the person! 5. *IF TWO UGLY PEOPLE MAKE A BABY THEN THE BABY WILL BE GORGEOUS!!!!!!

I am from Turkey there we have lots of superstitious beliefs about everything...
Well, if you keep looking someone your baby will look like him or her...
If you want to eat sour things the baby is a girl, if you want to eat sweet it'a boy...
If you were bracelets you baby will have marks around his her wrists
If you steal something while you are pregnant your baby will have a birth mark who look like the object you had stolen...

I don't know what country or culture this one came from, but it's an old superstition that you can drown your unborn baby if you swim or take a bath. Ha, right!

If you step up onto stairs with your left foot then its a boy. If you carry the weight all out front a boy. If you gain weight allover a girl. If you don't bite the babies nails off for the first year of life they will become thieves.
