The biggest one I knew of was on my mom and dad's farm, although it fell over a year or two ago. It was much larger than the oak is that Abraham Lincoln gave his Civil War speach under. The limbs of it were as big as full grown trees. There's another one on the property that is almost as big, but my heart really sank when I saw the oak fell. The base must have been about 10 ft across.

The biggest oak tree I know of is in southeastern PA. It is on one of my customer's property. It is estimated to be over 300 years old, and is absolutely huge. He gets visitors all the time just to look at it. I can't be sure without looking at it again, but it's trunk is AT LEAST 6 feet in diameter, maybe more like 8 feet. I am not sure as to the species, but possibly a white oak?
