I have a co-worker that makes very good money, he pays his child support faithfully, not court ordered. Here's the thing, the female is constantly talking to another co-worker about all the stuff she buys for herself with the childsupport meant for the child. Whenever he gets his son he is dressed in clothes that are too small, she has even dropped him off with no shoes on, he is 4, so that he will buy him clothes. Do you think that if a man can prove that a female is not doing what she is supposed to be doing with the child support payments that there should be a way for him to have the money monitored, or not give her cash at all, like pay for daycare, health insurance, and all the extras that kids require? I feel real bad for this guy, cause he is a good guy. WE ARE JUST FRIENDS SO NO SMART REMARKS PLEASE!!!!!!

He pays with checks, and writes what they are for, so he has a good record, I just feel that woman should be held accountable for what they spend that money on.

Yep.....he could take her to court and have it court ordered that so much is to be sent to day care or that the money goes into a savings accout...but first he would have to prove that she is not providing for that child....but this is the thing....he should of went through court to begin with because it is her word against his that he gave her money....good luck

I have two friends with the oppisite problem. The dad rolls up in a brand new S.U.V. Has a new pool, deck and when they were out shopping she asked for some ponytail holders. Rubberbands. He told her that was what child support was for. The other friend last son turned 18 and he sent a letter with everything he had spent money on over the years. Like gas.......This is my thought child support is to be used for shelter, food etc.ect. None of this is cheap. Most people don't get near enough for child support...The kids are the ones losing out.
Why can't ex's just get along.

yea, good ole child support, there is no real way to monitor how the money is spent, but if he documents what bad shape she drops the kid off with him and the clothes that he buys seperate then maybe he can get some kind of court intervention too, and why is he not doing child support through the courts? he could get really messed up like that where she could say he never paid

how about this, b/c the money is not court ordered he could take over say the day care cost(at least 400 a month) put the money into clothes and books. Anything left over goes to an account for the childs college.

tell him he can be my babies daddy, havnt seen or heard from him in three years. I promise to take care of the kid and spent the money only on the child.

With it not being a court order, there's not much that can be done. If your guy friend can prove neglect on the mothers part, that's another thing. Any time this happens, the kid is always the one to catch the raw end of the stick.
It's nice that your concern for him and hope he's keeping track of the money he's paying her for a future court date.He may need the information to protect himself !!!

Unfortunately, I don't think there is anything that can be done with how the ex wife is using the money. I'm divorced and my ex always thought I was using the money for myself, which I was not. These women give the good guys a bad rep. Maybe, if someone were to call her on some of these purchases, she would realize to shut her mouth. If not, record her, and have her ex take it to court.

Thats just one of those things... The mother always seems to want more money. They want to moan and complain about how whatever they are getting just isn't enough - when in reality the money isn't going to the child at all. He could always have the child support court ordered and he'd never be liable for one cent over the ruled amount.

ineffectually. what ever she does with the child support is up to her, even if she spends it all and buy nothing for the kid. Your friend should really consider filing for custody of his son if he really concern and tell him to keep receipt of every child support payments he gives her. Start, taking picture of how the child is dressed, and try to notice anything else out of the ordinary with him.Bring this to the attention of a family court Judge, and he should be granted temporarily custody, until trial. GOOD LUCK!!!

It depends on what state it is in, as the law on child support varies from state to state. But if he really thinks that she is in fact using the child support on something other than what she should be, he can go to court and have her child support audited. Only one thing, since it is not court ordered I really don't know how that would work.

Child aid and custody are 2 exceptional disorders. Both must be courtroom ordered. Since your father used to be courtroom ordered to pay youngster aid for your mom, that is what he is doing. Since you mom used to be granted custody of you through a further courtroom order, you're residing along with her. If you wish to are living together with your father, and your mom isn't inclined to permit you to take action, he might have got to return to courtroom and petition that the fashioned ruling giving your mom custody be overturned. In order for that to be triumphant, he might must end up that residing together with your mom is a risk for your lifestyles and protection. So no, you pronouncing you do not like your mother (as all kids your age do subsequently) isn't going to make a pass judgement on overrule an present custody order.
