Could Japanese Puroresu ever thrive in the United States?

Could a company like ROH(Which is not totally Puroresu BTW) or a company in the mold New Japan ever become as popular as a companies like WCW, ECW, TNA or maybe even WWE? Or are North American fans too addicted to Sports Entertainment?

Yes, I like Japanese wrestling especially Michinoku Proresu! Electric fence matches rock, as do death matches.
