Most of the referees can speak 2 or 3 languages. That helps. And there's 1 referee that can speak 5 languages. Wow!

You mean on the field, right?
I believe they speak English ... it's more universal and chances are, all international players speak English, at least the basics.
If the refs speak German or French or whatever, most players won't understand I think.

Everything under the sun. Actually, it is probably whatever language is spoken where they live. The refs are from all over the world, so are their languages.

I think they speak English which is the reason why they do not understand all the players screaming in their face and maybe why they have done such a bad job.

nearly all of them speak some form of English, Spanish or French. But I would say, mostly English
