Hi Mary:
I don't think you want to leave hey? You are asking us and I am really happy you are asking? Feel out all your options. Something is bothering you. Really, really bothering you. You need to talk to someone.

Money, tickets are cool when you are older---but it sounds like there is much more behind your ticket.......talk to some adult that you can trust right away.

If you are a young person, you want to be young and enjoy life.....seek good advise.....okay

luv Ava

Why would you run away? You need to do the pros and cons and there are more cons than pros I think. Where are you going to go? Just because you have a plane ticket and have all this money will not last for long. I just hope that you have some sort of future for yourself. I am only going to be 16 in a few weeks but you are going to be hurting your family and you.

I don't know how your family is but I know they love you in some sort of way. I think you should try and talk to your parents and see if there are any alternatives to going somewhere and not running away.

I hoped this helped you and I am sorry you are feeling like this. But running away isn't solving anything.

You haven't given us any reasons as to why you want to run away. Are you being abused, physically or sexually? or are you just angry because your parents won't let you do everything you want to do? You sound very young so you need to have a good reason for wanting to leave.
Don't run away! Your money will run out. You say you have an airline ticket. Where did you get it? Did someone you met on the internet send it to you? Have you read the horror stories about what happens to young people who run away? Drug addiction, prostitution, slavery and death are all just waiting for lonely runaways.
If you are being abused at home please enlist the help of a trusted relative or teacher and see if there is another solution besides running away.
Life on the streets is not glamorous, it's a death sentence.

It won't help. Someone answered that you should ask to go visit a relative or a close family friend that you parents trust. I really think that this is a wonderful idea. It will give you time to cool off and also give your parents time to cool off. Then when you get home, sit down with your parents and talk about what is bothering you. DO NOT RUNAWAY!

No. Go talk to your parents, see if they will let you visit a relative or close family friend for a week. Maybe they will let to travel there alone. But don't run away. Too many really horrible things can happen, not to mention the heartache you will put your parents through just for a little adventure.

Well first off, why do you want to run? If it's abuse, of any kind--Yes--RUN! No one deserves that.

However, if this is a manuever to "get back" at your family--then stay--it's not worth it--and if you're underage, the cops will just drag you home again...take it from me--I did it three times.

There's nothing so bad, perhaps save abuse, that you can't tough it out and learn from it--if nothing else, it'll help your patience and temper, help you learn to keep calm and face up to adversity like an adult.

Believe me, my mate discovered very quickly, as did I, that forcing your parents into adult conversations instead of screaming matches will often undo alot of their arguments.

Go watch the movie "The Wizard of Oz". It will answer your question. Dorothy, the main character, wanted to run away from home also and in the end she realized, "there's no place like home." It's a great movie with a great lesson.

have you thought about what will happen when the money runs out....depending on your age what will you do for money? a place to live?...think about it before you do.....best thing is to go ask to stay at a relative house for a couple of weeks this summer if you need to get out of your house...just get some time away in a safe environment....

Why do you want to run away? To where and from what? And what is plenty of money?

Please don't! Runnung away solves nothing. Whether you are a kid or adult. You did not give details, but I will say, you have to deal, head on, with the problems.
