Is there anywhere i can find out how much watches should cost that I see for sale on ebay? I have seen some nice ones with papers etc on ebay but don't know actually how much they are worth. Many thanks.

eBay looks nice but there's no guarantee. I suggest you better go to a specialist in vintage watches. You pay more but you know what you get. Again quality does not come cheap.
Vintage specialist will deliver you a well maintained, checked and cleaned watch with paperwork and (genuine) box.

I have heard commercials for a company call Gold and Jewelry exchange, I think they are on line, and they also have several store locations throughout the country. If I were you I would be more likely to deal with a company like this.
