I stupidly left a strainer on the coil while it was hot, searing the plastic strainer to it. I rent the space, so I NEED to fix it. Help!

If all else fails, you can often order replacement parts for even older ovens directly from the manufacturer. I once ordered a new coil for a GE range that was probably 15 years old.

Use the web to track down the manufacturers web site and customer care hotline.

Most appliance stores have them as does Home Depot. It costs about $20.

Home Depot carries them. Just remember to write down your make (Amana, GE, Hotpoint ....) and model number if available.
