i did....i saw a guy being beaten up badly by five bigger guys, and so i walked over (leaving my bf and his friend standing at the corner watching the fight) and realised it was bouncers from a night club beeating up the guy, as I was pulling the guy off the ground. I ended (me who is a girl) up getting thrown into a parked cab and breaking my foot and getting a major concussion.
While I feel what I did was something all people who have an ounce of humanity in them, should do....perhaps the setting in which i did it was wrong, I perhaps should have just called the police, not allowing myself to get completely involved as i did.

Hope this helps

I have. I didn't. No one did.

I must say that it happened very fast. It was on a crowded El train in Chicago. Some tough boys grabbed a very wimpy-looking man and hit him, grabbed his briefcase and jumped off the train, all between the time the doors opened and closed at their stop.

I think there may have been time for someone to intervene, but no one did. They did try to help him after, though, but it was before cell phones were common, so nothing could be done about the boys by then.

I would call the police from the nearest phone and shout that the police are on the way - if the guy left I would help the person in trouble. I could not physically stop the attacker, as much as I'd like to, as I am disabled.

How could someone not help them? I mean, I'm not especially religious, but wouldn't you feel a moral obligation to provide assistance in a situation like that? I know I would, even if the most I could do was call the police. I couldn't just turn my back on someone like that.

Yes call the police for them. :D. If you do something great in the world--it will most likely come on back to you when you are the one who might need help.

If the person being robbed had lots of money, I would rob the robber when he's finished robbing.

There's no doubt I would help as long as the robber wasn't armed. I'm always ready to help somebody but do not want to be facing a gun when I do.

i would call the police... In another case, you could get hurt. You both, the stranger and you.

I have, and being a woman, I usually don't have any troubles doing so...

I'd hope if I were in that trouble, someone would help me!
