Rest your foot! Don't walk on it, or put pressure on it - hop if you have to - that's what I did when I twisted my ankle. If you have swelling, it helps to keep the foot up at an angle - ie. if you're lying on the couch, rest your ankle on the arm rest - just a little elevated. Also, you can tie a bandage around your ankle, it prevents you from moving your ankle, thus causing more pain and damage. I hope your ankle heals soon though! Good luck!

Rest your ankle as much as you can. That'll probably be the most important thing you could do.
Aside from that, I suggest elevation and ice. Put your ankle on a pile of pillows or something and apply an ice pack. That will keep the swelling down and keep the circulation going.

Ice 20 min and then ice offf 20 min. Also if u can walk on it do so as much as possible. This will prevent stiffening of ur ankle which will just make it hurt worse.

Sounds like a sprain. It's called RICE
1.REST. stay off of it.
2.ICE. should be applied at 20 minute intervals every hour or so to reduce swelling.
3.COMPRESSION. Wrap it with a bandage.
4.ELEVATION. Lay in bed or on couch with a pillow or something under it.

ice it for 10 minutes on, 10 minutes off.. unless you have a towel on then maybe 15 mins.. keep it elevated too.. try to keep it straight out or higher than your heart.. the blood will pump slower there and not hurt as much.
