I have a video clip of fireworks I want to use on Windows Movie Maker for an Independence Day video. It says it can't use a .mov file. Is there a way I can change it to .avi or .mpeg or something that would work?

yes search for a program on yahoo that converts .mov to
.avi or .mpeg. There is lots of freeware out there. I have several I downloaded for free. Usually when you convert thou
it does take awhile sometimes hours depending on speed of
computer and size of clip.

MOV is a quicktime movie file, so any windows media programs will not be able to play them. They can, however, play wmv's, avi's, or mpg's.

Videohelp.com is a great starting point in video conversion. Just go to http://www.videohelp.com/convert, and put in MOV to WMV, MOV to AVI, or MOV to MPG.

A .mov file can be played in a quicktime player, but if you want to use it in windows movie maker so as to edit it, you would require a converter.

You need a converter. There are heaps available from www.tucows.com and look for the freeware software. (It's all legal software, just open source)

Otherwise you could download the 30 day trial of Adobe Premiere and see if it would let you save off files. Most of the more serious movie software will let you do it.

You cant genuinely replace the "document type" yet you could receive a programme which will convert archives from one format to a unique. Google "desirable & freeware & document converter" and it provides you with a itemizing of the desirable programmes for the interest. best of all it wont fee you a aspect. good success ! Dan
