One of my cats suddenly began to urinate on anything left on the drier - so I stopped leaving things there. But today she urinated on the drier's lint collector cover (on top of our drier) and the smell is all in the drier!
PLEASE DON'T JUST SUGGEST TO GET ANOTHER DRIER OR TO GET RID OF MY CAT!

Go to the pet supply or vet & get a urine/odor remover that is made of protein-consuming enzymes. This actually neutrilizes the chemicals that make that 'urine' odor. Spray the solution all around the top of the dryer, down, inside the vent, & on the lint filter itself. The earlier poster that suggested putting it in the dishwasher was on target, but I'd do it with other dishes I don't use for my food -- pet dishes, your mother-in-law's stuff, etc.

Continue to spray the cleaner down the dryer vent chamber until you no longer smell it. Don't worry -- the dryer is built for evaporation of liquids -- and what you're sprayng isn't enough to worry about. Good luck!

IF your lint trap is not all plastic i would put it in the dishwasher. Or at least soak it in boiling water with lemon juice added. As for the drier, i would say scrub it out real good with hot water and bleach or pinesol or something and let it dry real good before you use it. Then find a way to keep teh cat away from the dryer. Maybe get a squirt gun and spray the cat anytime you see it even close to the dryer. Hopefully iy won't take long to learn the dryer is not a litter box.
Good luck

I would wash the lint collecter off with white vinegar and then sit outside to air dry. If the smell is inside your dryer now take a couple charcoal brickettes (not the ones that have lighter fluid on them) Plain old charcoal brickettes. Place a couple of them on a paer towel inside your dryer and leave it alone overnite. it should absorb and aliminate the odors. Works great in the car!

Use several dryer sheets inbetween cycles. It wouldn't hurt to fluff your kitty with the dryer sheets too. Put some catnip on the top of the dryer and she/he won't urinate on it anymore!
