only 3 interstates run coast to coast

I-10 (Santa Monica, CA to Jacksonville, FL)
I-80 (San Francisco, CA to New York, NY)
I-90 (Seattle, WA to Boston, MA)

The rest below start at one coast and ends somewhere before it reaches the other coast, or doesn't even touch a coast)

I-30 (doesn't touch a coast)

even interstates run east-west odd interstates run north- south.numbers run lowest to highest based on lowest is most southern route or most western route.if there is an additional identifier (i.e. 680 440 785) if the first number in 3 digit interstate is odd it is a spur and just ends somewhere ,if it is an even number it is a loop and returns to the interstate system somewhere .U.S. hiways are the inverse-even numbers still go east west (us 2 me to wa) and odd numbers go north south (us1 key west to canadian border) but lowest numbers are east and north
