Because their thought patterns are destructive not constructive. A real attempt at killing oneself would mean a desire to leave the pain they have whilst living, whatever that pain may be, which is very real to them.

alot of the people who try and kill themselves have serious mental problems like depression and need treatment.but then again there are people who just do it for the attention and thats sad.what the hell is the point.
