128 MB of RAM is NOTHING - If you run XP, that should be at least 4X more - 512 MB.

Think of programs like books. Your hard disk is the bookshelf. You can have 1000's of programs (books) stored on a large enough hard disk (bookshelf). Now, lets say you need to write a comprehensive report and will use at least 20 books to research it, several at the same time. BUT, you only have desk space (RAM) the size of a dinner plate. You're going to have a difficult time using more than one book (program) at a time. You can make things easier by having a larger desk (more RAM) with which to work with books (programs).

Need a place to buy RAM from or at least find out what RAM your computer needs? visit www.kingston.com or www.crucial.com and use their website tools to identify the RAM in your computer and order an upgrade.

Your processor speed is fine unless you are editing video or playing high end games - I still use 600 MHz systems to browse the web and write documents and such.

Upgrade does not always cost $$$. I would start with ram, at least get to 512. Next look to see if your video is on the motherboard. If so even a $40 card can make big difference. These two upgrades do require a bit of knowing how to. One can find all this how to stuff on the net. .. Note: A cluttered pc can slow down as well try (Regseeker) free download.

there is not enough memory in the machine
u need to upgrade the memory and the 1.6 is going to be a little slow with all the new technology out u can get a good computer for about 300 to 400 or just get a bare bone kit and put a hard drive in it that might be cheaper.

The fastest and easiest way to increase a PC's performance is to add more RAM.

I would suggest boosting it up to at least 512 MB.

Well no...actually I agree that you should buy a whole new PC...you're living in the Stone Age.

Find out weather your system is upgrade, which will cost probably more to upgrade. Think about just replacement vs price of upgrading. Some system you may be able increase the ram, possibly upgrade the mother board.

I would try the 512MB RAM upgrade. If it doesn't help, you can still use that new 512 stick of RAM in your new computer

this is an easy one, MORE RAM!!!!

go to compUSA and ask for more RAM.

put like 1 GB in there($100-150). it's better than spending 1,000 on a new PC. they will install it too.
