I'm talking about a *personalized* one that I can go to a bank and buy. Preferably reloadable. Are there charges for every purchase? If so, can anyone recommend a comparable one with lower fees? And would I be able to use this for automatic monthly payments for bills, etc. ?

Why is it difficult to use for regular monthly bills?

I know it acts as a regular visa. Let me ask this:

Has ANYONE tried to use a personalized visa gift card for automatic monthly payments???

It is a stored value card. Most cost an up-front fee to purchase. Difficult to use for regular monthly bills. Works best as a debit card. Many can be recharged.

it acts just like a regular Visa. Except there's no fees or anything when you use it.

It's like any gift card that you can spend everywhere. A debit card, in a way.

Yes, it would be fine for auto payments as long as there is $$$ on it.
