Its not ignorant to think we are the only life out there. To think that there is intelligent life elsewhere is ignorant. If it did exist elswhere in one place, then it must exist in many places, and the chances that some one of those civilizations would be far beyond us, as well others being far behind us in development. Wouldnt at least one of those beings have the ability to contact us in some way? And why havent they by now? If in 100 short years we have gone from no flight, no telephones, no TV to what we have today, how far would we be in 1000 years? We should be able to reach other galaxys far far away. Given that 100 years is just a blip in the history of time, wouldnt there be civilizations that are millions of years ahead of us? Why have they not contacted us yet? Even the US Government cant cover it up if they are determined enough to make contact with us. Therefore, it makes sense that there cannot be intelligent like anywhere else in the universe but here on earth.

Believe in....how I despise that expression.
But yes, given the expanse of the Universe and what we know about its workings, I believe there is an excellent chance of other life forms existing out there. How could we possibly believe we have the only planet where life has developed?
But we must define what we mean by intelligence. Maybe what has developed elswhere is entirely different from us and would not even recognize what we consider intelligene. To them it may be something entirely different.
This is all conjecture and only interesting to people who like mental masurbation,

the answer to your first question is NO
the answer to your second question is YES!
PREDICTION:
humanity is and will always be the ONLY sentient beings in the universe (god and angels aside)
we are the reason for the universe
we are not unimportant animals
we are human...the crowning glory of the once perfect creation (before we ruined it, eh)
the animals, the plants, the stars, the planets...all of it is there to maintain the fairly delicate balance that is required for human existence...we are the purpose for which the universe exists
but the burden of proof is not on me...you need to falsify my prediction, claim by offering positive evidence that non-human intelligent life (god and angels aside) does exist elsewhere in the universe
until such time as that falsification comes along...the evidence (and lack thereof) supports my claim and not those above
this is essentially equivalent to the claims of evolution...the only so-called "science" (it's actually junk and not science at all, but...) that spends as much or more time about the business of trying to explain why or what we don't find in the evidence (ie, it happens too slowly; we can't observe it in our lifetimes -- or -- or trying to explain what we don't find in the fossil record, etc)

The Universe is infinite in volume.
So, there will possible if there will be life around the Universe.
There are uncountable of systems (Solar System) in the Universe, which some has the perfect condition for supporting planet that creates lifes.

No Way, but it does make a great story. Did you know that it took one man 408 attempts to make a house hold cleaner. He got it right on the 409th time, Formula 409. That was a chemical formula. We have life, intelligence, and dna. Look around you right now at our world. In this googleplex of galaxies I know that this is the only star system that got it right on the googleplex th time.

Yes, I do believe in the life on other planets. God I hope there is!!! Humans are so selfish and self-centred. They always think that they are the only ones around.

The probability of us being the only sentient beings in the universe is slim to none. While others may answer "no" to your questions, I say yes, there probably are beings that inhabit this large universe besides us. I hope this at least helps answer your question.

It is more likely that the president is corrupt, than the possibility that we are all alone in the universe. Some scientist calculated the probability of this question, and said that the chance that we are alone, is so small that it could not be possible.
