against people who engage in a lifestyle they disapprove of?

If it is a sin, where in the bible does it specifically say so?

Also, where in the bible does it suggest that the self righteous should condemn homosexuals, and deny them the same rights and priveleges the rest of us enjoy? Such as the right to marry, and adopt children?

I'm very disillusioned that this many answers say it's a sin.
What has happened to our educational system?! Clearly, we
are not concentrating on eduction to point of being scary.

It's genetic, they are born that way. I have friends who had to
grow up in turmoil & fear, just because they're gay. Does
anyone really think they would chose to be fearful all of the time?

Yep, you're exactly right, it's to justify their bigotry or maybe to
divert some attention away from Iraq, but I'm sure, it's both.

And yes, they have a face, 2 arms, 2 legs & a voice - they
should have the same rights as every one else.
Discrimination - such a thorn in my side!

If you're asking for yourself, then I'd have to wonder if you've contemplated where that guilt comes from. If you're asking about someone else's practice of it, their sexual behavior is none of your business.
I'm always amazed at how we, as an evolved, intelligent species, can get all wrapped up in what someone else thinks about us, or why what we think of some one else is so dad-gummed important! Homosexuality has existed across the species since life began, so... if you look at the history of human existence, marriage would be considered far more deviant -- and that's a choice!
If you're a practicing Christian and homosexual, I'd find a sect of the religion that doesn't hammer you with guilt. If you're really bothered by what the Bible has to say, consider this: It was written almost 2000 years ago (well after the crucifixion of Jesus), has been repeatedly edited BY MEN, and edited to fit the political times. If you're truly interested in whether or not you should practice your natural sexuality (whatever it is), go deep into your own spirit, because that's where the essence of God truly resides. Oh, and remember: Religion is the opiate of the masses. And the masses are asses.

I believe it is just a way for religious fanatics to justify their bigotry.
It does say in the bible that it is a sin. But it also says God loves everyone unconditional. Religions don't have just bigotry ways they they also have hypercritically ways. It does not say anywhere in the bible that the self righteous can condemn anyone that is God's job if he so chooses so. There is a commercial I saw the other day and it was about loving God and Jesus and the guy said "so I guess you can say I am gay for God" and it is true there are so many people that worship and love them you could consider them to be gay for God.
Everyone deserves to be happy and have a family to care for. If you ask me gay parents make great parents they teach a new gen. to have a open mind and to love people for who they are not who they love, their race or religion.
It a commandment to love your neighbor this does not mean when you feel the need to or if they have the same beliefs. With that said I think it is time that people got of their high horses and realized that what they are doing by putting down and trying to take away peoples rights is a sin.

The scriptures that answers your question where in the Bible are: Romans 1:24-27 , 1Timothy 1:9-11, and Jude 7. Sodom and Gomorrah and the cities about them, after they had gone out after flesh for unnatural use, are placed before us as a warning example by undergoing the judicial punishment of everlasting fire.
The name Sodom has become the basis for the word "sodomy," which usually designates a homosexual practice. Compare Genesis 19:4,5,24,25.
Homosexuality is not an issue that is new. The Bible sets out God's unchanging viewpoint in very clear language. If there were no God, we logically would not be accountable to him and so could live as we pleased.
It isn't the so called self-righteous that condemn Homosexuals, it is God himself. True Christians are to "love their enemy" "love their neighbor"

homosexualit is a sin. But really really religious ignorant people think its a lifestyle that people choose which is not even true. Its been proven that homosexuality is genetic and homoseuxals are born that way.

I am not exactly sure where in the bible, but there is controversy saying that it does say so and that it doesnt. People read into it too much and get these conclusions.

the bible does not say anything about homosexuals not being able to do the same things heterosexuals do. People just say that cause their *** holes.

It is sin.

Romans 1:26-27: "For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence [sic] of their error which was meet

But condemnation sits not in our hands, but in God's. "Let he who has not sinned cast the first stone." So for most rights and privileges, including the right to adopt children, I agree with you. Marriage, however, is a concept taken from the Bible and should remain as God intended, between a man and a woman. I have no problem with them having a legal "union", and receiving the same rights and privileges that a married couple would have, such as the right to adopt children and the receipt of medical benefits and social security, but MARRIAGE is BIBLICAL and should remain as it was Biblically, between a MAN and a WOMAN.

Homosexuality has existed in society for thousands of years and always regardless of religious beliefs, ethical mores or otherwise it has always been an abomination. This period of time is one of those rare times that it is becoming more accepted. Those times generally occur near the END of a certain civilization such as the Roman Empire, the Classical Greek Society and now the current world. Happy times!

It is forbidden in the bible (Leviticus 18:22, 20:13, among others), but I'd say it's up to you to decide whether you think it's a sin. If you believe the bible to be the word of God, then I guess you would have to concede that it is a sin and decide if you still want to do it.

...Really, it's all up to you, as an individual. It's all about who you want to have sex with, right? Why make it more than that?

Iti s a real sin, and saying the truth is not bigoty. Actually it is bigoty for those who wish to live in sin to wish to silence those who are telling the truth.

And of course you know where in the bible, it has been posted on here and 1000's of sites all the time.

And let me see, they have the right to marry someone of the opposite sex, there is no same sex marriage, that is merley perverse sick sexual behavior that has been forced into legal status by courts not law. Next there is no "right" to marriage, it is a state law issue. And we need to protect children from people with such ways.

IT IS A SIN, TRUST ME. THERE IS NO PLACE IN THE BIBLE THAT SUPPORTS THAT BEHAVIOR, (SELF RIGHTEOUSNESS) JUDGING PEOPLE IS A SIN TOO, BUT DISLIKING OR HATING A SINFUL ACT OR BEHAVIOR IS NOT, I THINK PEOPLE DON'T KNOW HOW TO CONVEY THAT AND HOMOSEXUALS TAKE IT THE WRONG WAY AND BECOME DEFENSIVE. YOU SHOULD HAVE HUMAN RIGHTS TRUE, BUT THE BIBLE IS THE BIBLE AND LAWS ARE LAWS AND THAT IS THE WAY THE WORLD IS, WE MUST FOLLOW THE LAW AND ALSO USE THE BIBLE AS A GUIDANCE ON HOW TO LIVE RIGHT, AND IN THE BIBLE THAT CHOICE IS NOT RIGHT, EVERYONE SHOULD LOVE AND RESPECT EVERYONE AS A PERSON BUT IT WOULD BE WRONG TO NOT LET YOU KNOW THAT IT IS WRONG, I WOULD BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR THAT ONE DAY THAT I DID NOT TELL YOU, SO NOW I HAVE TOLD YOU.
