When you read the lines, you just see what's there in front of you, but when you read between the lines, you see the big picture...you see everything, you see the good, the bad, and the ugly.

Reading the lines is perceiving what's ahead of you, literally & taking it basically at face value.

Whereas, reading between the lines is very much using your better judgment & finding out the subliminal messages that are encoded within a context.

reading the lines means u accept/believe what is written in front of u or told to u
reading between the lines means that u use ur intuition/reasoning skills to desphier the true or hidden/underlying meaning of something u read or what is told to u, like reading someone's body language as they're speaking. it usually speaks volumes!

reading the lines- your not really thinking in depth. whatever the story tells you, that's what you comprehend.
reading inbetween the lines- realizing waht's really going on, even though the story might not tell you.

for example-- your friend susie may be sad that she didnt get invited to a party. but she tells you "she's fine and glad she didnt get invited to the party"

reading the lines- You think Susie is glad she isnt invited.
reading in between- You realize that Susie must be sad because, say the tone of her voice.
