Then the person hasn't truely forgiven the offending party if they are still taunting them about it.
Forgiveness and forgetfulness is an action and not just words. It seems to me the person is will to say the words I forgive you but not accomplish the action.
Learning to forgive is a life long lesson and many people struggle learning. Some never learn. All I can hope is that you learn how to truely forgive.

Nobody forgets-anything.
Every single thing that you do in life leaves a fingerprint. Some are small, and you don't think about them, some fade a way, and some stick and make such a big imprint that you think about it every single day of your life.
You can forgive people, but sometimes its hard to forget because of the fingerprints. Some things in life nobody can forget- as much as they watn to, they'll allways be in your heart and soul.

The memory is a mistery to all people. When you do something it will never go away. It may not show up all the time but it is hidding somewhere in the back of their mind and anything that you do to bring up that memory will bring it out again. Whatch your actions. It will fade eventually but until it does you are really just stuck with it.

It's just the truth of the matter. People can eventually forgive, but most likely could never forget! You also need to remind someone every once in while of their past behavior, making sure that they never forget what they did to you. Make sense? :)

Unfortunatley it seems to be human nature, we are suppose to FORGIVE per the Bible and God, but we just cannot find it in our hearts to totally....................FORGET...
At times I think we need to REMEMBER...but I am with you.. once it is done, and we have done the forgive.. it should not be brought up over and over etc.. and for sure not infront of people.
If your talking about an affair, I have friends who have told me they have forgiven, but they cannot forget, we can understand that..but they are SCARED and they will bring it up /over and over out of FEAR.
If it is something mean that is happening to you I would say, find new friends... because this is not right... and not healthy...
Good Luck

It is a natural human instinct to let you know that what you did hurt them very much. They want you to know that they can't trust you and they deal such a harsh blow, because they feel like you owe them something or they want to get back at you and the only way to do it at the time is to deal that harsh blow.

No one ever forgets a breach of trust. Once its gone it can never be brought back. Sure they can forgive you even come to understand .....but no one will ever forget that you hurt them....if you can't handle that then I suggest you not do anything to hurt those whom love and trust you.

Because you can command your will not your mind, nor memory! I mean, "forgiving" is in our reach whereas "forgetting" is an unconscious process!
