Some of the earliest "Inns" existed in the original colonies.
The beds were a frame with ropes stretched across in lieu of slats which came later. The mattress was a straw filled burlap sack. After a guest slept on it, the ropes may sag, and the next guest was always told, "Sleep tight". This meant that the ropes may need tightened. Bed bugs were very common pests.
Most served meals and dishes were only washed after every "third" diner. Shortage of water, Ya know. All diners wiped their plates clean with bread.
The elite who stayed at these Inns were given special privileges. They had private rooms, at a price, and always ate off clean dishes.

Research and learn more.

Most villages would have a tradition of hospitality to travelers. This may go back to the beginning of permanent settlements (10,000 years ago). As some places became more popular for trade, (attracting many travelers) the "pay-for" hospitality became standard.

Maybe you should walk to the Library and open one of those things called a book. Or how about using the Duey Decimal system to find some books about your given subject. BTW do you even know what a Duey Decimal system is?
