I'm starting my grad school search, and I'm kind of stuck on figuring out where to apply. I know the very general area I want to go to (the east coast area), and I know what I want to study (masters in social work). Now, I'm just kind of stuck figuring out how to narrow down which schools I want to apply to.
If anyone has any links of good grad school searches, or good ways to find out ratings for programs in schools, that would be great. Thanks!

In the east, Columbia University, Brandeis University, Hunter College (CUNY), Smith College, and Bryn Mawr have the most highly ranked Master's level programs in Social Work. (Brandeis' program is in Social Policy, which means it's the best for administration-directed folks.)

Below is a link to a ranking of MSW programs nationwide. This is the Gourman Report ranking, published by the Princeton Review. Make sure to read the information about the Gourman Report, too. There's a link to this info on the page below.

Best wishes!

Check out http://www.gradschools.com/programs/social_work_msw.htm
for social work graduate school information. Things to consider:
is the location good for you, do they have internships that can lead to jobs, is there placement help after graduation, is it located in a good neighborhood, what to the alumni have to say about it, does it have special programs of interest to you, is the scholarship money or any other tuition assistance, and do you like the professors after speaking to them. Find out the above and you'll pick the right school.

Hi
When you select a grad school think about location (nice & affordable), reputation or ranking and job opportunities in the area so you can gain experience while you study. Go to your local library for more information and financial aid opportunities. Good luck
