I'm a graduate student and want to live somewhere downtown. I don't mind if it is small but I would like it to be nice on the inside. Thanks.

Try the Talisman Apartments. They are located right at Barton Springs and Lamar up on the hill. Great views of downtown since all apartments are on the hill. Easy access to anywhere- Zilker right down the street, great view for July 4th fireworks, quick access to downtown. Reasonably priced because the apartments are not brand-new. All have garages and are a good size for what you pay. Many are leased so conditions vary for each apartment. Hope this helps.

Austin as an finished is usually a secure position. aspects to pay attention of are some aspects of the Eastside, fairly round twelfth and Chicon streets, the realm south of the river and east of IH-35, and the region of North Lamar Blvd and Rundberg Lane. you receives extra abode for your money in the suburbs than in major Austin. With six youngsters you're probably searching for a higher abode. low priced aspects with tremendous houses contain round Rock, Leander, Cedar Park and Pflugerville to the north, Manor to the east, and Buda and Kyle to the south. round Rock and Cedar Park both have good faculties. those aspects are separate cities, no longer component to the city of Austin. all and dissimilar is about a 30-40 5 minutepersistent from major Austin. in the city of Austin attempt looking around the Wells branch section, in South Austin south of Ben White Blvd, or in northwest Austin close to the Arboretum. good success!

Get a tent and set it up somewhere. Get a sleeping bag, small grill or something similar, a bucket, a pot, nonperishable food and closable lid containers. Ta-Da! cheep and easy place to live. Sleeping bag for a bed. Grill to make a warm meal, heat things whatever. Bucket to do business in whenever a restroom is not convenient. Pot to cook in or make water clean, maybe put water in to take a sponge bath. Food and containers to store things in. All the basics you need to live somewhere, just a little more comfortable.
Or you can just go to an alley and find a cardboard box, whatever works.

Try finding something in Clarksville (Enfield area). It's close to downtown, close to campus, but in the middle for prices. There are tons of little places (apartments, condos, homes) in that area. And it has a good vibe. Not as stuck up as TarryTown, not as hippie as south of the river.

in the same boat here. just found a place. my suggestion is to look up apartment ratings online first. apartmentguide.com is a good starting spot. there are some nice places that are still availabe that are on the ut shuttle route. just be advised some parts of the city seem to be worse for crime than others.
