Rebooting is just turning the computer off.

Go to start, click
Go to turn off computer, click
Go to restart, click

wait

then it comes back on...you are now rebooted.

Computer vocabulary is not always user-friendly. Reboot sounds like putting new footwear on the computer, but it really means turn off and on again. I wonder if you are thinking of something more dramatic such as 1. repairing your Windows installation or 2. reformatting your hard drive and installing the system again. To do any of these, you need the master disk that came with your computer. There are some nice directions for 1 at the About website listed below. #2 Reformatting your hard drive is much more drastic, since you will lose everything on it. The second link below has directions for formatting your hard drive and the third link is for installing Windows. I would look for some other advice before trying these.

insert the operating system into the cd/dvd rom, then restart your pc, just before the windows xp logo shows on the screen, press F8 or F12, then some options will show on your screen, choose to boot the hard disk, then it will prompt you on your next steps.

good luck!
