I moved to Detroit to pursue my dream of working in the auto industry...after 10 years i have realized it sucks and that my native LA is too expensive to go back too....
After doing a lot of reasearch, Charlotte North Carolina looks pretty good...its growing, has a mild climate, and seems like a good place to live...
If you are in CHarlotte, what do you say? Are you sick of us Yankees? Do you like it? Do you dislike it? Would you recomend it? How about jobs? any info you have would be appreciated.

Charlotte is a cool place. I used to live in Columbia, SC and the only thing redeeming about Columbia is that it was only an hour from Charlotte..
Charlotte has a lot to offer. It is a mid-sized city with enough culture, sporting events, and restaurants to keep you happy and there's also a pretty good mix of people.
I would really suggest going to visit there - I made that mistake before I moved to Columbia - I only visited for a short time and I saw *ALL* of the really cool little spots the first time so I made an erroneous decision that Columbia was pretty cool in itself. I should have stayed longer and met some people...
If I were you I would make a list of all of the things that I love about Detroit and LA and see if Charlotte has most of those things. I really wish I would have done that when I moved from Atlalnta to Cola. It would have helped me see things in a more objective way.
By the way, Yankees are fine with us.... as long as you don't tell us how ya used to do it up north... :)
If Charlotte isn't big enough we'd love to have you in Atlanta I'm sure.

I live about an hour from Charlotte and love to visit. As for living there, I would recommend a suburb like Locust, Mooresville (home to most NASCAR teams), or Albemarle ( home of American Idol contestant Kelly Pickler). They have a better NFL team than Detroit too !!! Try looking at Greensboro also.
