Dude u need to see a Doc. Go get an x-ray result and can accurately tell you what is the problem. No point spectulating about..
Myself have experienced sharp pain on simular area. Pain would drag for many mths. On and off. I play soccer a lot. Once during a game i realised i have some difficulty doing short sprints. The much twisting of hips when i run triggers the pain. When to see a doc and x-ray shows my backbone is actually missing on one tiny part. How ridiculous! According to him the pain occurs cus of lack of sleep n rest. I am also advised to stop my weight lifting regime.. sigh.
The pain has not occured since i took proper care of myself. Don't let this happen to u dude

I'm thinking the fast pitch.
You could have strained the muscles and the injury made itself felt later.
Like a bruise, it takes a couple days to completely show all the colors (and is a little more sore), then slowly fades ( so does the soreness), showing more colors. Like that.
Sometimes it takes awhile for all the pain to be felt, one reason, shock, the body can mask pain even when the injury is not life threatening. Another reason, at the time of the injury, you could have been distracted, probably by the game, and not paying attention to your hurts.
Wait a few days, if it doesn't get better or gets unbearable go to a doctor, until then, Advil is your friend.

well it could be anything from gas, to a pulled muscle to a problem with your appendix (if the pain is on your right side). If the pain gets worse or stays the same in the next day you should seek medical attention. First take a GasX, and some pain medication. What did you eat the night before?

It could be Pleurisy. I got it when I was in 10th grade, over Christmas vacation. Worst pain I've ever felt.
It's when the outer layer of your lungs become inflamed.
Here's what WebMD said the symptoms were:
Severe, fleeting, sharp, pain in your chest, often on one side only, when breathing deeply, coughing, moving, sneezing or even talking.
Severe chest pain that goes away when you hold your breath.
When pleurisy occurs in certain locations of the lungs, the pain can be felt in other parts of the body such as the neck, shoulder or abdomen.
Rapid, shallow breathing in response to the pain.
I hope you figure it out, and if it IS Pleurisy, just rest and relax. It'll go away, even if it doesn't feel that way.

Person who said kidney stone - not!! That is left or right lower back and it hurts like hell!!!!
I get that when my diaphragm muscle is spastic from breathing too shallowly (usually due to poor air and GAS pains). Try Pepcid AC complete. Of course, seeing a doctor is usually the best course of action.

Gallstones or gallbladder inflammation; kidney stone; kidney infection; possibly pneumothorax (air around the lung); pneumonia.
Were this caused by an injury, we'd also consider rib fracture, liver injury, and kidney injury.

pain from appendicitis would begin on the left side usually, even though your appendix is on the right.... pain under your right rib cage could be gas, a pulled muscle or a gallbladder attack.... best to see your doctor if it persists....

This happens to me often. Often when sleeping, you can get a nightmare or you can toss and turn in your sleep. By tossing nad turning in your sleep, you can pull muscles, break blood vessels, get bruises, basically anything can happen.
You don't remember it when you wake up in the morning, but you feel the pain.

If it's the lower quadrant, you could have appendicitis. Upper quadrant with nausea, could be your gal bladder. Go see a Dr.!
