NO!! not unless you want one of them to kill the other one. Hamsters can only be kept with same sex mates that are from the same family or have been together since being a baby. Otherwise they are so territorial that one will kill the other. Hamsters do not really get lonely. Get her a wheel for her cage or some tunnels and plenty of good foods and she will be fine by herself.

If its a full sized hamster (not a dwarf) then, no they are very territorial and the females are much more vicious then the males, the reason you see them in pet stores together is because most of the time they have not yet reached sexual maturity and the ones that have do fight a lot in the pet stores and have to be separated once they do. If your hamster is a dwarf you can try introducing another hamster but do it slowly.

No, they are very territorial and will fight to their death if kept together. I didn't believe it until my sister-in-law put mommy and her baby together in the same cage it lasted about 1 month and she woke up in the morning to see mommy all eaten up she's still alive but was hiding in the toy house shaking and bleeding really bad the baby hamster who was about (2-4 mo old) bit right through two of her feet and a clean bite right in the butt.

At the pet store they always group a bunch of males together and females together and they all sleep and huddle up close to eachother.
I know dwarf hamsters can get along, cause I had them and they kept multiplying and multiplying and the parents lived with the grand parents and great grand parents and so on.

It depends on the type of hamster...
"Dwarf hamsters must be kept with a cagemate of the same gender to prevent loneliness, whereas Syrians are extremely territorial and will kill other hamsters in their cage."

You always see more than one hamster in the cages at the store and they seem to get along fine.

Hamsters like to be alone for the most part. Just make sure she has a wheel to run in this is all the company she will need.

I would probably keep them in separate cages...if you love your hamster I wouldn't risk having her get hurt in fights. But DON'T put her in the same cage as a male....things get very, very nasty when they start to breed :)

Adult hamsters are solo creatures. They are only interested in mating purposes when it comes to another one living around. I wouldn't add another female to the mix. You may not like the results since they are well known to be highly territorial.
