I'm assuming you're a girl and you want to play...

The rules for girl's lacrosse are based on one premise: No plays or actions, defensive or offensive, that could end up hurting another player. The rules are a lot like basketball. The rules are complicated. After three years of coaching girls lacrosse, I still don't understand them all.

This is a comprehensive resource:
http://www.uslacrosse.org/the_sport/girls_rules.phtml

There are 11 players on the field and one goalie:
First Home, Second Home, Third Home (All-Time Offense)
Center, 2 Attack WIngs, 2 Defensive wings (Midfield)
Point, Cover Point, Third Man (All-Time Defense)

The play on the field is a lot like soccer. Almost all the players move up and down the field to the offensive side of the field and down to the defensive side of the field. Also, fouls can result in cards (Yellow, Red), depending on the severity of the offense.
Major fouls, such as tripping, taking a dangerous shot, Hitting a girl in the head, will result in a yellow card. Covering the ball with your stick, kicking the ball (called a "body-ball") will result in a warning and a turnover. These rules are a lot like soccer.

Anyways, there are many, many more rules in girls' lacrosse. I could spend hours writing about the different rules for different situations on the field, but that would take too long.

To start you need a stick and a ball. That's it. Go to a wall and throw the ball agains the wall and catch it. It takes a while, but after about 1000 reps, it should be pretty natural to you.

The best way to learn is to play. Remember: coaches are there to teach you and a good coach won't lose his patience.

Good luck

It is an overly complicated game. It takes first-rate co-ordination and stamina. If you're in well form there is no purpose you could not begin gambling. Wear the correct apparatus and you are well to move. Have a laugh!

No offense but who asks how hard a sport is? Do you expect your going to be good with no commitment not trying. I mean come on. Do you expect it to come easy? And from my point of view yes it is hard.
