Thanks Charmed_xoxo but Manufacturers are not required to list the ingredients in candles, therefore I've yet to find one with a label listing anything other than how to burn them etc.

Look at the wick when the candle is new. If the wick has a lead core, you can tease the fibers away from the core at the very tip of the wick. No core, no lead.

Candles are made of wax and paper or cloth. The only lead is in the candle holder. There may be traces of lead in the wax if they were made in lead molds.

Zinc wires are used to give strength to some wicks.
