I have the worst menstrual cramps. I never cramped before, why should it start all of a sudden, and what works the best to help them go away??

I have not cried out of physical pain in years, and I have had about 35 piercings, and not cried. These cramps are actually making me tear up.

I drink so much water and decaf tea, I can't have caffeine because of the meds that I am on for my restless leg syndrome. My boyfriend usually massages me, but he can't right now because he lives 1200 miles away.

You should see your doctor because I've had this and so has my sis. I have an ovarian cyst AND a uterine tumor ( I also had polyps in my uterus but had them removed 2 years ago) and I also have adhesions (which was caused from having 4 c-sections and gallbladder removal). My sis has endometriosis which causes her a lot of pain and cramping and hu7ge clots. So if you want to ask me more just contact me. For the pain? We were fortunate to get muscle relaxers (somas) Other than that nothing but a heating pad helped. We were in soooo much pain we actually cried!

I can't answer the part about why all of a sudden. I remember that I started when I was 12 and when I reached 16 I had them awful. My doctor had me on Naprosyn (sp?). Anyway, nowadays I just take midol or aleve. Good luck and hope you feel better. If the pain is unbearable be sure to see a doctor!

Sometimes getting in a good swim or exercise of some sort helps to make you feel better. Also, be hydrating yourself (drink a good amount of water) because during your period it's said that your body retains water more. If you need to you could also take a pain reliever.

i dont no how it starts, but here r some ways to relieve cramps, get a heating pad and place it on your stomach, take a warm bath, do some light exercises like walking, take a painkiller, stay away from caffiene and cold stuff, caffiene will worsen your cramps, and cold things will make your flow heavy which will make your life miserable when u hav cramps

I suggest you see a doctor. A friend of mine had what you are experiencing and it turned out she had an infection in the lining of the uterus. Take a look at this page. It might help you:

I'm not a woman. but i have cramps in my abs always, i always worry i may be dying, or have liver problems... but i went to the docs already and got tested and they tell me i'm totally fine.

I guess it comes down to mental toughness. try to not pay attention and go through your day as best as you can, also being happy helps
