when i try to go to www.bellsouth.net the address changes to: http://servedby.advertising.com/site=95965/size=468060/bnum=409642/dma_code=104/tags=1/optn=1?
and it says "The page cannot be displayed" how come?

If you're recieving an advertising site instead, you should do a adware/malware scan.
If you have no spyware protection, download, install, and run AdAware from this site: http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/, then try again.

You have a browser hijacker! You need to update and run a good anti virus and at least 3 spyware remover programs. If you do not have them, go to: komando.com. You will find links to high quality free programs. AVG is the best free anti virus. Adaware, Spybot and Microsoft's: Windows Defender are very good spyware removal programs. It is very important to keep these updated and running to protect your PC and your security.

Sounds like the web site was possibly hacked--but, if i were you, try bellsouth.com to see if that is the one you are supposed to use.
