Did I waste my time fighting for the freedom of slaves.Im sure I didnt but racism still goes on today.I almost broke up our country to.Was it worth it?

Yes. the thought of one person 'owning' another is nauseating. Even though we have far to go with equality, the abolition of slavery in the US was well worth it!!

I think you are probably a little raciest your self there's always something people don't like.. come on now admit it !! .. It seems a lot of problems were caused for less than 13% of the population, when the evolution of time has given all people the same rights.. There's a lot of people out there that are willing to step up and blow their own horn when in reality they accomplished nothing.. get a life and find something else to keep you occupied ...

Most of the slaves before the War of Northern Agression were in a good situation. Most owners treated them well.
After they were free, they had no place to go, no skills, some stayed on for low, meager wages.

Of course it was worth it.
Perhaps the process could be a little different. but it is easy to say today only.
At least the changes are still there and the evolution is going on and on...

actually... you fought mostly to put the country back together but most people think it was to free the slaves... that was only a perk of reuniting the nation.
