Read up quickly on the internet what the difference is so at least when you get to the store you won't feel stupid asking certain questions. I don't think you're ready for a rabbit if you can't decide between a dwarf and a mini lop, there should be a lot of thought going into this because he will need some attention fromyou, from the vet. Should I get him fix? Should I get him a friend? How many times a day can I devote my time to him? Who will take care of him when I'm away? Where am I going to put his cage?

I had my heart set on a mini lop because they are absolutly adorable and I love them and have previous experience with them. However I just adopted a Netherland Dwarf about 2 hours ago. You will fall in love with a paticular one once you see them, always follow your heart. The netherland dwarfs are the smallest domestic you can get. Mine is 3 months old and the same size as a full grown guinea pig. Mini lops get to be about 51/2 to 61/2 lbs. So if you have a certain cage, get a small rabbit that will fit in its home comfortably. Always go with your first instinct.

By dwarf, I assume you are referring to a Netherland Dwarf? Netherland Dwarfs are smaller than Mini Lops and offer a larger variety of colors. They do have more of a tendancy to be mean than Mini Lops do. Mini Lops tend to have more teeth problems due to the shape of their heads.

I personally think Mini Lops are cuter. Have you considered a Holland Lop? They are smaller than a Mini Lop, yet look a lot like a Mini Lop.

I think you'd probably like a Holland Lop.

I would get a mini lop because a lot of times dwarfs are inbred to get that small size and are mean! I had a mini lop, and she was really sweet.

You should go to the House Rabbit Society and see what is available. There are so many rabbits that need a home give a bun a second chance.
