I really need clarification on why large women and MEN wear spandex pants!?!
Not only is it an OLD, outdated fashion statement, 80's HELLO!!! But it is just not neccessary.
Is it because ....
1. You feel confident with your body, and you don't care what others think.
or
2. You just are really ignorant and don't know any better?
If someone has some sage insight, please enlighten me!
I myself am pretty big, and I feel that I confident and really don't care what others think of me. BUT I have half a mind to know that Spandex IS NOT MY FRIEND!
HELP ME UNDERSTAND why the rest of the world needs to see your golf ball size divots of cellulite through your overstretched pants!

It's because they're more comfortable -- let's not forget that Spandex STRETCHES. When you're five feet tall but have a 44-inch waist, they just don't make clothes in your size very often, so you either have to a) buy tailored clothes that cost an arm and a leg, b) make your own and look oh-so-fashionable if you're not a particularly good tailor yourself, or c) buy clothes that do fit or stretch to accommodate you regardless of your size. That's why some larger folks also wear muu-muu's -- one size really does fit all, even if they don't look particularly flattering.

Here's your answer.Obese people did not become obese overnight.Contrary to popular belief,it takes years of abuse to get that fat.Obese people do not like to shop for clothes,because it is too painful.They dress in spandex,because it does not cut into their flesh like clothes with zippers.They began to buy spandex when they could no longer fit into their skinny clothes.That was years ago and they are still wearing it.Being obese is an overwhelming situation that most people haven't a clue how to tackle.Please don't judge them.They are kind and good people just like you and me.They just have a little extra.

My sister is overweight and can't wear blue jeans because they give her a rash between her legs, maybe spandex helps them to move better and get more air in that area?!

I don't know... I'm also big, and I only wear spandex when swimming... and I try to hide myself ASAP in a towel once I get out from the water.

Im a small , petite woman and I refuse to wear spandex.. I think it makes me look horrible!!
I think larger people are comfortable with who they are and just dont care..
So whatever makes them happy and comfortable, as long as I dont have to join them..
