It was a musical but not a cartoon it was real people I watch it as a child . An I would like to know why they never show it now.

The Rogers And Hammerstein one from the 50's with Julie Andrews was also done in the 60's with Lesley Anne Down; and both are on dvd if you look. The 50's one was re-released after it got a huge push from PBS in late 2004.

YES, I remember this movie and people think that I am out of my mind and tell me that this movie was never made, I can remember watching it and I wish to this day that I had a copy of it. I would love to find it some where.
I also know that Lesley Anne Warren was the princess

Now that is a movie that should still be showing. Not a remake, but the origional. Leslie Ann Warren, Farley Granger (maybe it was Stuart Granger) and Pat Carroll.

Excellent movie and cast.
