Probably. They have to use something as a guide, and a full bladder is easy for them to differentiate from other organs.

Yes, and by lots of water, they mean LOTS. I drank eight, eight once, glasses in less than 60 minutes. Then when they were ready to do the the test, it would not work, as they said I had not had enough water. I had to set another half hour and drink four more glasses. I would say from my experience, that you can not drink to much. It literally felt like I might explode!

When I had my ultrasounds done when I was pregnant I had to have a full bladder. It helps to see the baby better.

Get to the appt a half hour ahead of time, and drink water while there. That way you won't be as uncomfortable.

yes you are supposed to i;ve had three of them and it is hard to hold it
