why people do not learn grammar? you have faith in something with no proof. not all people choose to do that. the Him you speak of is in the eyes of the beholder, hence the reason some don't give respect and thanks.

Well, I'd have to ask you, have you ever considered he doesn't exist? Or have you just always believed what you were told? Because belief without exploration and questioning isn't true belief. First of all, how do you know you truly believe if you have never tested yourself. Have you ever watched someone you love die needlessly? Have you ever had to do something you know is wrong in order to protect someone who is doing something that is right? Have you ever had a moral dilemma where something your bible said was wrong disagreed with the situation you were in? Have you ever been to war? Have you used your religion to remove yourself from war? Do you spend all day caring for the sick and destitute without pay and compensation? Do you truly give of yourself without going home to your plush bed with you nice stuffed animals, driving around in your cute little Toyota. Have you ever considered what a hypocrite you are by judging people without learning about what it is they believe in first? Do you know how similar the religions of the world are? Do you know the meaning of education? I highly suggest you step down from your pedestal open a book and learn a little my dear. Then maybe you can start to comment on which religion of the world is correct. Just because mommy and daddy told you this was right doesn't always make it so. Best of luck in becoming your own person. My suggestion to you is think for yourself and question everything.

If Jehovah exists, (WOOT! I used his name! I'm a blasphemer! Smite me, O Lord!) why has he planted evidence suggesting that he doesn't? I refer to the fossil record which has remains of animals not mentioned in the bible, as well as human evolution, which suggests that we evolved from a more primitive animal rather than being created; various elements which have a half-life longer than the 6000 years claimed by creationists; the creation of amino acids in the lab, which suggests that life will create itself without help from a god; and the fact that I just blasphemed and am still alive.
If Jehovah created me, why did he basically damn me to eternal torment by giving me a nature that rejects faith and demands proof? Is he so evil that he would create people to question his existence, and then send them to hell for questioning his existence?

What most Christians need to realize is they don't have the only religion in the world ! There have been many gods and goddess. Who are you to say your's is the only right one ! ? Your parents gave you your life, not any god ! Thank your parents. Nothing is "eternal". NOTHING ! Even our sun will one day die. In time it will become a red giant, and it will destroy our entire solar system. This planet and all others will be fried to a crisp. Get real, it's 2006. And no one cares...

Tough one, people are thoughtless and therefore miss some of the most beautiful and basic things in life. I talk to my God all the time, I know he listens, I know he answers, I just may not be able to recognize the answer. "I prayed for strength, God gave a load to bear" God does not expect thank you's, he only asks for belief. that is thanks enough

Yeah man, quite preaching...but to answer your question: people can believe whatever they bloody want to believe in, or even nothing at all. You give respect and thanks, as you say, because you believe, and deem that worth your time and energy. Thinking logically, those who do not do as you say, either do not believe as you do, or simply do not deem it worth their time and energy. As for me...no comment, but none of us here need a preacher. Everyone can do their own thing, I don't feel the need to further restate posts of anyone above me.

You are acting against God by judging the levels of respect shown by others.
Get over yourself.
