i lost my mucus plug when I was 37 weeks pregnant, it doesn't mean that the baby is coming right away. you lose it generally before you start to dialate. I dialated up to 4cms before I actually went into labor. Doctor's say it is perfectly normal to dilate before actually going into labor. I was dilated for a month before i had my daughter. "Passage of mucus plug: Either a few days before or at the onset of labor, the mucus plug—the wad of thick, sticky mucus that seals off the cervix during pregnancy and protects your baby from infection—will become dislodged as your cervix begins to dilate. Despite what other pregnancy books may tell you, the loss of your mucus plug is not helpful in predicting with any accuracy the onset of labor. "

If your muces plug is lost 2 1/2eeks ago . call your ob doctor as you need to be checked to see how your baby is doing. If you can't get the doctor call the delivery room at the hospital you are having the baby, as you might need an ultrasound. good luck!

Not necessarily. I've was 2cm dilated at 32 weeks...lost my mucus plug at 35 weeks, dilated to 3cm at 36-7 weeks, and am now dilated 4cm and am exactly 41 weeks pregnant. Still waiting on the whole "baby falling out" part.
It's different for every woman...there is no "typical" pregnancy.

Is this your first child? With my last pregnancy my mucus plug dislodged at 34 weeks and at 37 weeks I gave birth to a healthy 7lb 2 1/2 oz baby boy (he was my third). It just depends on your body.

more than likely you've only lost some of your plug. but that can happen up to a month before. it happens slowly in a lot of women. if you would like to move the process...i took redlelaf raspberry tea. it's herbal and can be bought in the herbal section of any store.i went into labor after 3 glasses. 1 day later.

Everyone is different.
Though the longest I've heard the baby is born a week and a half after the mucus plug is gone.
You might want to check with your OB.

Your cervix has to start dilating before you can have the baby just because you lost you plug doesn't mean labor is close. When you see your Doctor he can tell you if you are dilated or not . Good luck

Losing your mucus plug isn't a big deal it could be weeks before labor begins. Just be patient. Your biggest concern is your water breaking and sometimes even that doesn't happen. Good luck!

i actually read in my pregnancy book that it can be two weeks.
maybe u should ring the hospital and let them know how long ago u lost it, they might ask u to come in and see if u are ready for labour and if baby is okay. i'm sure your fine though. lie in bed and suck on a cup full of ice, if u bubs ready ice usually helps bring on labour aparantly. i was given it when i was at hospital.
good luck
