I'm married and was unfaithful with my good male friend. Sex is not always involved when we are together....but the tension is always there. I wonder if we have gone past the point of no return. Meaning, will we ever be able to have a strictly platonic relationship after we have been initimate? Part of me thinks we could, but the other part of me doesn't want to give it up. Am I a horrible person?

Definitely yes - most of my platonic friends are male - and I am engaged. Men are just easier to get along with than girls, in most cases.

In a word, yes! It is possible, but often unlikely, to be REALLY good friends with a man or woman (respectively) without romantic involvement. By romantic I don't mean sexual. You might start out being 'just friends'. Later, you might want to be more than a friend. If that happens you need to have an honest and open discussion about your feelings and see where to go from there. Sex, has NOTHING to do with a genuine friendship. Though I believe friendship is a good foundation for marriage. As far as having sex, wait until you're MARRIED!

Yes they can!! I do have a best friend and there is absolutely NO sex involved in it. The only thing that you have to remember, no matter what, IF you have a boyfriend or girlfriend out there, you better let them know about this best friend AND let them met this best friend as well, if not you ARE just asking for trouble with bf/gf. Always let them know about you talking to your best friend, hiding nothing and don't make a habit of meeting this best friend without your mate. Further more, go with my motto:Don't say or do anything that you wouldn't say or do in front of your mate.

Yes. some men make better friends than woman do. I had one we went places together while our partners were at work. We had a great time, he was just another girl with shorter hair. We enjoyed each others company. He passed away a few years ago and I do miss him. He was a good friend.

Of course they can. Some of my best friends have been guys that I would never even think of sleeping with. There is nothing wrong with having a great friendship with the opposite sex without sex!

Absolutely.
But they have to be the type of people who can handle that sort of relationship. Mature, open-minded, comfortable with themselves and each other.
