exfoliate before your shave and use a GREAT moisturizer. I reccomend using Baby Oil while you're still wet from the shower and shaving and when that finally dries use a good lotion like Jergens

I used to get ingrowns so easily...I usually shave my legs in the bathtub, NOT the shower! I pour 1/4 cup of baking soda in the water, soak for a bit, then exfoliate with a loofah and Neutrogena Body Clear Body Wash. It has salicylic acid, which is a chemical exfoliant. Then I use a good shaving cream and change blades often. I've found that I can't use triple blades...Venus tears my skin up, but a double blade leaves it smooth. For above-the-knee, I can't use anything but Silk Effects, the blade is wire-wrapped so gentler. After shaving I wash again with the body wash and put on lotion. No more ingrowns!

Exfoliate, exfoliate, exfoliate. Prior to shaving or waxing, definitely exfoliate. It helps to make the results smoother and it helps in the prevention of ingrown hairs. :)
